A Public Hearing at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow

On June 10, at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, a Public Hearing was held on: The importance of the family in the process of social rehabilitation and post-penitentiary assistance.

Among the guests were representatives of the Remand Center in Krakow, the Youth Sociotherapy Center, the Center for Treatment, Therapy and Rehabilitation of Addiction, MONAR Association, the Małopolska PROBACJA Association, the St. Ludwika, foster family care, court guardianship and social assistance. During the discussion, attention was focused primarily on the role and place of the family in the social rehabilitation process of minors and adolescents.

During the interview, many barriers and problems were identified, not only in working with families but also in inter-institutional cooperation. A valuable aspect of the meeting was the recommendations formulated by the interviewees, both in terms of improving work with families of minors and adolescents and in the area of education of rehabilitation educators.
